Forever a small fish in a big pond

Life Being Little Socials

Growing up in an average height family, meant I didn't have any contact with other little people until the age of 13, when Little People UK was formed. Up until this point, I truly believed that I was the only one. Despite being surrounded by people who I know loved and cared for me, It didn't stop the feeling of isolation.

When I started my blog, I knew one of my biggest ambitions was to not only raise awareness of dwarfism but more so to show other people with the condition, that they too are not on their own. I held my first ever social event in November 2018 in my hometown of Bristol, it was then I decided that I wanted to reach out to people not only through the media but by meeting them, I wanted to be able to hear people's stories and share my own in the hope to provide some sort of support to those affected by my condition.

Whilst lockdown has paused all plans to arrange meet-ups; When it is deemed safe and appropriate to do so, I fully aim to hold more socials and provide a fun, exciting day out for people which also enables them to access support, information, and above all... Friendship. It can be a lonely world when you're growing up being different, a feeling I know only too well, and if I can take that feeling away, even if only for a day... Then I know it's worth it.

Stay tuned throughout the year for more information about the upcoming 'Life Being Little Socials', events will aim to be released a minimum of 4 weeks in advance and costings will be kept as minimal as possible.

If you have a good idea for a meetup or are a venue who is willing to host a group of members and their families; please email me on daniellemariewebb@gmail.com. Looking forward to meeting some of you soon!
